Review for Tap That by Jennifer Blackwood and RC Boldt

Title: Tap That
Authors: Jennifer Blackwood & RC Boldt
Genre: Romantic Comedy

 Release Date: March 6, 2018

The beer’s not the only thing getting tapped.

I have a secret. It’ll get me fired if my boss ever finds out…which shouldn’t be a problem except for one thing: my coworker, Reid Morgan.

He’s cocky, aggravating, and that hot-as-sin mouth simultaneously makes me want to slap him and melt into the mattress.

Now that he’s discovered my secret, he’s doing everything in his power to take my job.

I have a problem: my pint-size spitfire of a coworker who’s primed to take my promotion.

She’s infuriating, sexy as hell, and I just can’t seem to keep my hands off her.

Now we’re both vying for the same position…and only one of us can come out on top.

I am a huge fan of RC Boldt!! Absolutely LOVE all her books. I never have any qualms about diving into to anything she writes. I will be honest, I always worry when one of my go-to authors collaborates with another on a book. As a reader, I worry will both authors be able to blend their talents. Will the flow seem effortless, not in anyway muddled or episodic. I can honestly say for this reader, Tap That was by far a stellar collaboration for authors RC Boldt and Jennifer Blackwood.

Reid Morgan is the hot as heck bartender at a local Miami hot spot called On Tap. He is primed and ready to fill the position as manager….he’s up, it’s his turn to shine and show the boss what he can really do. When he is called into the office ready to let his boss know he wants a shot… he never expected to hear what he did or for that matter be introduced to the NEW manager trainee, Callie Anderson. Who the heck is she?? To say Reid is pissed is an understatement! He mentally gets himself together while his boss tells him to show her the ropes.

Callie is definitely outta her element. Why in the sam hill did she lie on her resume? Lets just say all the brewery experience she said she has is a bit of a while lie. Heck, lets face it…she hates beer! She doesn’t know diddly about how its made, the only thing she knows without a doubt is that it tastes like week old gym socks. One thing is for certain, she is determined to keep this job. She has to, or it’s back to the hell she is trying to escape from. Now if she can just keep up the sham. Unfortunately Reid knows that Callie is not what she seems. He is determined to find out her story, that is if he can think with his know the one on his shoulders!!!

The story heats up, and the sparks fly. One anti-date, toss in a game of bingo, some anatomical balloon art and you’ve a romance that screams Reid and Callie. One problem, they cannot let the cat outta the bag! Quickly how everything changes with a phone call….a meeting. Lives are forever changed, words spoken can never be taken back and one heart is shattered. Can hearts be mended? Can broken trust ever fully be regained? One thing is for certain, never underestimate the power of a good Bingo game!!!!!!

I have to say RC Boldt and Jennifer Blackwood did a superb job on this book. I am not a reviewer that gives away a story so you will not find spoilers here!! I hate that, I think every reader should experience books firsthand!

The banter between Reid and Callie was flippin’ hilarious. It never seemed over the top or pushed. I literally cracked at the kids birthday party. Not to mention the anti-date. I think I wanna try one of the those! Can we talk about the hot factor. Sweet mother of pearl, those sexy times were HOTTT!!! Of course, there were those moments of frustration with the characters and I found myself wanting to junk punch Reid a few times and do a girlie hair pull on Callie a couple times because they were both so blasted bullheaded. That just shows the authors were doing their job in the ‘feels’ department. The flow of the book was spot on. I couldn’t tell where one author left off and the author took the verbal reigns. It moved at a steady pace and kept this readers interest from start to finish! The supporting characters blended into the story perfectly and yes I would say there were a couple that stood out. Overall a fun read!

If you are looking for a rom-com that gives you those moments of angst, hot sexy times, sweet moments, a host of great characters, crack up humor, and one heck of an ending…then this is the book for you.
