Jade has increasingly little to say about herself as time goes on, other than the fact she is an author, but she’s plenty happy with this. Living in imaginary realities and having a legitimate excuse for it is really all she’s ever wanted.
Jade is as dirty as you’d expect from her novels, and talking smut makes her smile.
She lives in the Herefordshire countryside with a couple of hounds and a guy who’s able to cope with her inherent weirdness.
She has a red living room, decorated with far more zebra print than most people could bear, and fights a constant battle with her addiction to Coca-Cola.
Where are you from?
I grew up in a place called Ledbury in rural England (Herefordshire) – it’s a black and white town with a market house on stilts in the centre, and is very beautiful. I traced my family tree a few years ago, and it seems my family line goes back to the 1400s in the same local area. I guess you could say I’m well and truly from that part of the world! I have crossed the border into Wales now though, and live in a village called Crickhowell, which is also very beautiful.
If you had to perform in a talent competition right now, what would your talent be?
I could do a blindfolded taste test and correctly identify different colas. Other than that, I don’t really know. I can’t sing or dance, I don’t play any instruments, and I’d be a terrible stage magician. Ooh, I do have a great memory, so I could do a dramatic performance of childhood poems. Arnold was an anteater, anyone?
What’s your favorite movie quote? (Make sure to include the name of the movie)
We don’t even care whether or not we care – The Neverending Story.
The perfect organism. Its structural perfection is matched only by its hostility – Alien
Tell us a fun fact about yourself that would surprise your readers.
I made it through to the screen test for The Apprentice (UK) in 2008.
Who’s your favorite cover model?
There are a few cover models I really like, but my favourite is Jonny James. Not only was he a huge inspiration for Bait, (I had the cover image before I wrote the novel) he has also become a friend over the past few months. He’s a really nice, genuine, thoroughly approachable guy, and it’s a pleasure to know him. It’s also just as well he’s as nice as he is, seeing as I have his face on two metre high canvases in my living room. If he’d turned out to be a jerk it would have ruined their appeal somewhat. 😀
Okay, back to books, what genres do you write?
I write romance on the dirty side. Okay, on the very dirty side…
What is your inspiration?
It can be anything. The entire plot for Buy Me, Sir (released last March) came from an afternoon watching Eric McCormack in Travelers – the whole plot came through fully formed, just like that. The inspiration for Bait was personal experience, and then the characters took on a life of their own. Really, inspiration can come from anywhere at any point. It’s always amazing when it does.
Tell us about your latest book?
I’m working on two projects at the moment. Bleed – which is Jake from Bait’s story and as dark and brooding as its predecessor , and Dirty Filthy Gorgeous – which is a friends to lovers romance with a very cool curvy heroine and a guy that is too hot for his own good. It’s going to be as dirty as the title suggests.
My latest published book is Bait, which came out in August. It’s the story of a woman with a dark (and dangerous) fantasy and the man who fulfills it for her.
