Review by Cora Kenborn
5-star mafia hot, geeky, sexy goodness.
Hi. I’m Cora, and I’m a Syndicate Slut.
Yes, you heard me. I devour, inhale, and live each and every installment of Soraya Naomi’s Chicago Syndicate series. I’ve been there since For Fallon and when I heard Henry was getting his own book, well, this chick buckled on her hooker heels and was ready for more.
Most mafia books center around the main character of a mob boss or a direct descendent. Now, don’t get me wrong, my love for Adriano and Luca is legendary, but in this book, we get to step down the Syndicate ladder a few rungs and learn more about Henry, the mob hacking genius. Having had a not-so-great life growing up, Henry decided that hard drives and codes were safer and preferable to hard love and cuddles. He’s in control, in denial, and in for a rude awakening when Mary short-circuits his whole existence.
Mary is a vibrant, full of life kind of girl, who also didn’t grow up with picket fences and playgroups on a cul-de-sac. Sister to the head of the most powerful Chicago mafia, Mary has a pure, but wild heart. She’s open, honest, and what she feels is written all over her beautiful face. You know what they say about opposites attracting, right? Henry likes things orderly, but he can’t control everything…especially Mary.
When these two finally get together, the explosive heat will peel the paint off your walls. Soraya Naomi is a master at the “push and pull” tension between a couple, and more than once, I found myself yelling at my kindle for them to just “get over themselves and do it!” Yes, I award my review stars on how often I talk to my electronic devices.
Black Hat Hacker is a friends to lovers, opposites attract, suspense till you crack, nail-biting, on the edge of your seat, can’t put down book. Soraya Naomi has once again proven why the Chicago Syndicate series is one of my all-time favorites in this genre. Bring on Carmine!
I have a passionate obsession with the written word and indulge in chocolate pastries much too often.
My debut novel For Fallon (Chicago Syndicate, #1) was released on July 26, 2014. I’m honored that For Fallon won “Best Breakout Novel 2014” in the Novel Grounds Semi Annual Literary Awards.
