Spotlight Sunday: L.P. Maxa

L.P. Maxa lives in Austin, Texas with her husband, daughter, 3 rescue dogs, 1 stray cat, and one fish (that keeps dying and she keep replacing so her toddler doesn’t notice). She loves reading as much as she loves writing. In her words… “I’ve read a lot of the classics, and I appreciate the hell out of them. But, nothing is as fun as curling up with a glass of wine (or beer or whiskey) and a fun romance novel.”

Let’s get to know more about L.P. Maxa…

TBBB: Where are you from?

L.P: I grew in a small town outside of Houston called Waller. After I graduated it was on to San Marcos and then the ATX. We live a little out side of Austin now and I am loving it. My husband and I both grew up in small towns and although where we currently live isn’t small, it’s got that small town vibe.

TBBB: If you had to perform in a talent competition right now, what would your talent be?

L.P: My husband was sitting next to me while I was doing this…his answers in the background were inappropriate. Um…let’s see. A talent. I can make really huge soap bubbles with my hands. I make them in the bathtub with my daughter and she thinks I’m magical. I have to agree with her.

TBBB: What’s your favorite movie quote? (Make sure to include the name of the movie)

L.P: Oh holy balls. I have so many. I love movies! “The only true currency in this bankrupt world is what you share with someone else when you are uncool.” – Almost Famous “I am a golden god.” Is also a good one from that movie. “Get your f**king rope.” -Boondock Saints

TBBB: Tell us a fun fact about yourself that would surprise your readers.

L.P: Again. My husbands answer is the background are hi-larous. He’s a regular comedian. My husband and I have remodeled two houses now {total nightmare} and I’ve become really handy. I can put up sheetrock, lay floors, install stone veneer. I’m also learning {slowly} to wield.

TBBB: Okay, back to books, what genres do you write?

L.P: Contemporary Romance. The series I have out right now is a rock romance series that follows a band called the Devil’s Share. I’ve written {still working on} a shifter series called St. Leasing as well.

TBBB: What is your inspiration?

L.P: Everything. Song lyrics, movies, pictures, people’s lives. Anything I see and hear can strike a story line in my head. The universe, the universe is my inspiration. That sounds writer ish. *insert wink*

TBBB: Tell us about your latest book.

L.P: My newest book will be released on September 21st. It’s the fifth book in my Devil’s Share series. Play Hard is the HEA of the drummer in the band, Luke. He fell hard for someone a long time ago and never thought he’d get his heart back together after it didn’t work out. But he does. It’s the happy part of his journey. It’s been a long road of redemption for Luke.
